1. Buying Your Own Business by Russell Robb provides a useful overview of the buying process, and insight into how to create and utilize your acquisition team.
2. You Can Negotiate Anything by Herb Cohen provides a simple framework for negotiating.  He provides many practical examples and techniques that are useful in the business acquisition process - whether it's negotiating with the business owner or the bank.
3. Rich Dad, Poor Dad and Cashflow Quadrant by Robert Kiyosaki are recommended if you're still trying to decide if business ownership is right for you.  Both books are a light read and will resonate with you if you're really ready to make the change from employee to business owner.
